Since 1998, New Life International has been bringing hope and healing to a world in need through innovative technology and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
A durable, cost-effective, and simple-to-operate water purifier was invented by NLI’s President, Duvon McGuire. Duvon began designing this purifier in 1992 for orphans who suffered from unsafe drinking water. After years of research and experimentation he invented an affordable, lightweight, portable water purifier that could disinfect large quantities of water efficiently and quickly for entire communities. He received a patent for this invention.
In 1998, Honduras was devastated by Hurricane Mitch, which caused widespread destruction and claimed tens of thousands of lives. Duvon personally brought 33 of his water purifiers to the affected communities and witnessed firsthand the positive impact that safe drinking water had on people's lives. This experience inspired him to believe that his portable water purifiers could change the lives of thousands of people worldwide.
The New Life International (NLI) patented water purifier uses simple table salt to create chlorine which disinfects the water. A single purifier has the capability of providing enough safe water for a school, medical clinic, hospital or even an entire community. In 2020, we expanded by launching a cutting-edge innovation center that introduced automated water purification as well as created a process that alters our water purification system to create a disinfectant, critical to aid in wound healing and disinfection.
We envision a world where all people have access to solutions that enhance physical and spiritual well-being. Our technology has been deployed to over 80 countries globally and we’ve installed more than 4,000 of our flagship water purification systems. Missionaries, pastors and church leaders who know of a need for our solutions come to our campus in Underwood, Indiana for a free, one-day training on proper placement and installation. It is through these relationships that we’re able to bring hope and healing to the outermost parts of the world.
